Fill the vault of the heart with spiritual treasures

Fill the vault of the heart with spiritual treasures

Zikr Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on March 3, 2016

The pangs of love for Allah Ta'ala are what make a heart worthy of being called a heart. Allah SWT says in the Quran the hallmark of the people of Iman is intense love for Allah SWT. We should not be content with a low level of love for Allah Ta'ala but should strive to develop and grow that love until it overwhelms the love of everything else in the world. The human body itself does not have value as Allah Ta'ala says, 'it is only from sand that we created you', and upon death that body will be returned to sand. A human being of value is one whose heart contains all the jewels of Allah Ta'ala's Ma'rifah and Muhabbah, and who possesses the beautiful attributes of Taqwa, Tawwazu, Ikhlaas, Istiqaamat etc. The Ahlullah are those whose hearts' are valuable as they are adorned with such jewels, and it is this treasure which is taken to the qabr. In the Hadith Shareef it is mentioned that the knowledge a person acquires will be personified by Allah SWT to give a person company in the qabr. It is these qualities which will be of benefit to us in the qabr and the Hereafter which determine our true value, and not the outward physical and material possessions of this world which we will leave behind. Nabi ? said, 'the true wealth is the wealth of the heart', therefore we should focus our attention and effort on the development and adornment of the 'baatin' so that we can become internally rich, rather than only the development of the 'zaahir' and the outward things of this world.
