Spiritual Waterfall at Haramain

Zikr Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on July 4, 2019

Ashaar: Ilahi Teri Chokhat Par

We have entered Dhul Qa’dah, the first of the three consecutive sacred months, during which, according to Ibn Kathir (R), the reward of good deeds and similarly the sin of evil deeds is multiplied. A Mu’min is conscious of the Islamic calendar and tries to reap maximum benefit during the important spiritual ‘seasons’. In the beautiful poetry of Hazrat Mufti Taqi Usmani DB, ‘Ilahi Teri Chokhat Par’, the sentiments and emotions of the sinful ‘beggar’ at Baitullah is expressed. We should feel honoured by the title of ‘fuqara’ given to us by Allah SWT Himself, and whilst this quality is at its zenith at Baitullah, this reality should reflect in our daily lives! The poetry laments a life wasted in negligence and transgression, remorseful over a life passed in which All?h SWT was not worshipped and obeyed. Rivers of tears of regret on the Day of Qiyamah will not help one iota! Therefore, if Allah SWT gives a person that regret in this world, allow it to overtake and grip the heart. The Baitullah is the Royal Court of Allah’s Favours; Nur, Barakah and Tajalliat-e-Ilahiyah cascading upon it like a waterfall, with such force that whoever is present receives at least some of that ‘spray’. A person should thus present with high expectations of being ‘drenched’ in the goodness of Baitullah and being ‘washed’ clean of all the darkness of sin, as All?h SWT is most willing to give! Give the Hajis encouragement, blessing them with the du’as taught by Nabi ? and requesting their du’as in turn – a winning formula through which the whole Ummah reaps the benefit of Hajj!
