Season of Haj & Forgiveness

Season of Haj & Forgiveness

Zikr Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on June 13, 2019

Ashaar: Ya Rabb tu Apne Fadhl Se Aana Qubool Kar

After Ramadan begins an important Islamic season – Ashurul Hajj (the months of Hajj), i.e. Shawwal, Dhul Qa’dah and Dhul Hijjah. Those whom Allah SWT has chosen are preparing to depart and the flights of Hujjaj are taking off one after the other. The greatest occasion of acceptance of du’a in the life of a Mu’min is in Arafah, where Allah SWT grants such forgiveness that shaytan becomes completely despondent at his efforts gone to waste! Allah SWT, in His Mercy, uses the opportunity of Hajj for the Maghfirah (forgiveness) of the Ummah, accepting the du’a of the Hujjaj, and those on behalf of whom they make du'a. The poetry, ‘Ya Rabb tu Apne Fadhl Se’ highlights how the Haji presents himself in the Lofty Court of Allah SWT with the rare ‘bouquet’ of poverty, neediness and humility, which Allah loves so much! The one who humbles himself for Allah’s sake will be raised by Him, therefore the kayfiyah of the Mu’min is that of a beggar at Allah’s door. One can never lose hope in the mercy of Allah, pondering over His superlative attributes! The person ‘bent’ with the weight of sin should turn to Allah SWT and ‘offload‘ his burden with sincere Taubah, feeling pain in his heart and shedding tears. Deep wisdom is seen in the beautiful du’a of Nabi ? for forgiveness, which encompasses the removal of the 3 elements of harm in sin. Allah SWT brings these ‘seasons’ of Maghfirah, but in reality, a Mu’min’s Maghfirah can be made at any time of the day or night, with a sincere du'a from the heart!
