Remove the darkness of Sins with light of Istighfaar - Masjid-e-Ebrahim, Newlands East
Zikr Majlis, at Masjid-e-Ebrahim, Newlands on April 20, 2017
The enemies of Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) would compose evil poetry to torment him and the Sahabah, which was a source of great suffering for the Muslims. Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) instructed Hassan bin Thabit RA to respond as Allah SWT had granted him the gift of composing beautiful poetry. Till today his poetry in praise of Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) cannot be matched by any other poetry in the world. The poetry of those of Taqwa (Piety) are excluded by Allah SWT in the Holy Quran from being ‘meanderings’, and are in fact beautiful lectures in poetry form. In the poetry recited Moulana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Sb (R) explains what is required of a Mu’min in the life of this world. All human beings are sinful, however we must not become the victims of despondency over these sins, which is what shaytaan desires. The Ahlullah encourage towards giving up sin, as it is never too late to make Taubah. There are countless stories of those who made Taubah at the very end of their lives, and even those who had no Iman but whom Allah SWT favoured with a beautiful end. The road of Islam is the road of hope, and mercy of Allah SWT. At the same time we must not be bold in committing sins, but must take stock of ourselves. If we have done wrong, make Istighfaar abundantly, and if we have done good deeds make the firm intention to continue. Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) mentioned that there will be glad tidings on the day of Qiyamah for the person who makes abundant Istighfaar. Thikrullah is the light of Allah in the heart through which the Mu’min finds his way in life, and is spiritually nourished.
