Valentines Day - Leads towards Immorality
Jumuah, at Musjid ut Taqwa on February 13, 2015
The origins of Valentine's Day stem from paganistic practices which were banned and condemned in the past by Christianity. Nowadays even Muslims have become deceived into celebrating this day. Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) didn't allow Muslims to follow the disbelievers in acts of Ibaadah, how can they be followed in sins and immorality. Islam encourages love for our wives, mother's, father's and children and humanity everyday of our lives - not just on selected days. Think of the arrow of cupid as a poisonous arrow of shaitaan which is shot when a person casts Haraam glances (as per the Ahadith). True romance and love was perfectly demonstrated by the Best of all Creation, Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) who taught us that rewards are given for acts of kindness towards our wives. Islam strongly promotes upholding of morality, modesty and loyalty, for our own protection and benefit. Be careful and shun the increasing prevalence of immorality through movies and other media and shun valentines day in every way.
