Do not help shaytan against your brothers - Quwwatul Islam Jame Masjid, Verulam

Muslims love, honour and appreciate Abu Hurayrah (RA) due to his devotion and sacrifice in acquiring and transmitting the teachings of Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam through 5734 Ahadith. He narrates an incident of an intoxicated person brought before Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam. The punishment was carried out, but when some people began to curse him, Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam admonished them, “Don’t help shay??n against your brother”, exhorting them to rather make Du’a for mercy and forgiveness for him instead. From this it is learnt not to become a means of driving people away from Allah’s Mercy by condemning and disgracing them, thereby giving shaytan the upper hand over them. The incident of a Syrian person who would sit in the company of Sayyidina Umar (RA) is a reminder of the value of the talks of Deen and the gatherings of Ulama, as this is how true knowledge of Deen is acquired, and not from social media! The touching incident of how Sayyidina Umar (RA) dealt with him when he fell into drinking, making Du’a for him and writing him a letter reminding Him of Allah’s mercy, demonstrates how to draw a sinner back to Allah. By practicing on these teachings, they will one day return to Sirat al-Mustaqeem and become better Muslims, with the mercy of Allah.
