Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on August 20, 2018

The day of Arafah is a great day, not only for the Hujjaj but for the entire Ummah. It was regarding this day that Allah SWT proclaimed, ‘I have completed your D?n, I’ve completed all My favours upon you and I have chosen Isl?m as your way of life’. The virtues of the day of Arafah are very great as it is equal to a thousand days of Ibadah, the sins of the past and future year are forgiven for the one who fasts on this day and Allah SWT grants maghfirah (forgiveness) to His servants, whether in Hajj or not! Arafah is named as such as it is the place where Aadam (AS) and Hawa (AS) met after coming down from Jannah and being separated for 40 years. Allah SWT taught them the wording of amnesty: ???????? ????????? ??????????? ?????? ???? ???????? ????? ????????????? ???????????? ???? ?????????????. Just as Allah SWT forgave the father and mother of mankind through these words, He will forgive the children of mankind too! Allah SWT descends and boasts to the Malaikah about His servants in Arafah, making the Malaikah witness to their forgiveness. Shaytaan is completely disgraced on this day as his efforts in misleading the Hujjaj are wasted. Hajj is a private experience, the spirit of which is to focus on Allah SWT, yet it is painful to see the fitnas including social media, photography and commercialisation that have enveloped the Hajj in this day and age. Despite this, we see from the beautiful incidents of Ali ibn Muwaffiq (R) how Allah SWT accepts all the Hujjaj by virtue of the few Auliya amongst them.
