4 Actions in the last 10 days of Ramadan
Jumuah, at Musjid ut Taqwa on June 16, 2017
We have entered the most important and crucial phase of Ramadan i.e. the last ten days of Ramadan. This third phase of Ramadan is liberation from the fire of Jahannam. Two great acts of Ibadah associated with this phase of Ramadan are:
Itikaf
Seeking of Laylatul Qadr.
When the Ummah shows interest in these Ibadah, Allah’s SWT special interest will be focused towards the Ummah. Those people who are in Itikaf are camping at the door of Allah SWT. The reward of Itikaf is equal to that of two Hajj and Umrah. If we cannot sit for full Itikaf we should spend maximum time in nafl Itikaf in the masjid. We should not waste away time in so called socialing, “iftar parties” and other useless activities. Rather we should become focused and realiase the greatness of this month. Let us fill our Masaajid and create an atmosphere buzzing with Ibadah.
There are two more acts of Ibadah to be undertaken in this third phase of Ramadan ie:
Seeking the Forgiveness of Allah SWT.
Engaging in fervent Dua.
This is an opportunity to make Dua not only for ourselves but rather Allah SWT loves that person who seeks forgiveness on behalf of the whole Ummah. Allah SWT elevates such a person to the level of “Mustajab-ud-dawat”, (one whose Duas are readily accepted) and Allah SWT raises him to the level of the Abdaal (choosen and accepted friends of Allah SWT). Therefore always be open hearted and generous in Dua, There is no limit in the treasures and rewards of Allah SWT.
There is a saying that the “ MERCY OF ALLAH SWT IS SEARCHING FOR AN EXCUSE”. These last 10 days are the vital days of this Holy month of Ramadan. We as a Ummah are in a global crisis, so let us start off with fervent Duas. There is no greater Ibadah than Dua. Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) has said :
“DUA IS THE VERY ESSENCE OF IBADAH”.
