Advices of Fuzail bin Ayaaz RaH - Part 3

Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on February 20, 2017

Regarding sincerity Hazrat Fudhail bin ‘Iyadh (R) mentioned that a time had existed when people did things for name and fame, however today people seek name and fame for that which they did not even do! The seeking of name and fame is spiritually detrimental, and even more so for actions which one did not do. According to the Auliya Allah one should not be deterred by those seeking credit, as in the eyes of Allah SWT the reward of the doer is secure. Regarding friendship Hazrat Fudhail bin ‘Iyaadh (R) said, at the approach of the Qiyamah people will appear to be friends in public but will be sworn enemies in private. Such nifaaq (hypocrisy) has become so common that it is the currency of this day and age. We should look to ourselves to identify whether we possess these qualities and attributes. If we do we should seek Allah Ta’ala’s protection, and make an effort to reform ourselves and cleanse our hearts as this is the whole purpose of Islaah. The Ahle-dil are those whose hearts have been purified, and therefore their hearts are steadfast on the love and ma’rifah of Allah SWT. Hazrat Fudhail bin ‘Iyaadh (R) mentioned that a Believer takes stock of himself knowing he will have to answer to Allah SWT, whereas a hypocrite is unmindful and careless in this regard. Muhasabah (introspection) has been emphasized by the Mashaaikh so that a person can evaluate their condition, seek help from Allah SWT and remedy their spiritual diseases.
