The whole surface of the earth which was steeped in darkness and ignorance was changed through the Prophethood of Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW). With the coming of Islam the status of man was equalized, as when it comes to submitting to Allah SWT there is no distinction between people on the basis of race, language, culture, financial or social standing. Superiority in the eyes of Allah SWT is only on the basis of piety and righteousness. Allah Ta’ala has created all of mankind from a single father Aadam AS, who was made from the earth and had the quality of humility. Allah Ta’ala mentions in the Quran that there is no superiority of an Arab over a non-Arab, or of black over white, and vice versa, therefore there is no avenue for racial discrimination in Islam. Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) practically demonstrated this to the world through his treatment of Bilal RA who he gave the great honour of calling out the adhaan in Masjidun Nabawi Shareef. Bilal RA whose steadfastness could not be surpassed, was elevated and chosen by Allah Ta’ala for the singular honour of calling out the adhaan in all three Harams in Islam. Through Salaah this equality is demonstrated, as despite the worldly status of a person all Muslims are equal in the Masjid, and when standing before Allah SWT. Death is also an equalizer as the kafan and qabr of every person will be the same. We should try to comply with the teachings and example of Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW)in order to make the world a more just and peaceful place.
