Beware of Rumour-Mongering!

Rumour mongering and spreading of information without verifying it causes great harm especially if it’s related to Deen, by causing confusion, misunderstanding & disunity in the Ummah. People think nothing of it, yet it is very severe & weighty in the eyes of Allah SWT. Allah SWT warns us in different places in the Holy Quraan, therefore we should not spread information without verifying it. If we are not sure, maintain silence & abstain from spreading such information. Even if the information is verified, a person has no right to attack anyone’s dignity or character assassinate anyone as it is extremely detrimental & will cause great regret on the Day of Qiyaamah.
