Jumuah, at Musjid ut Taqwa on March 21, 2014
Human rights have been divinely ordained by Allah Ta’ala Himself and are inviolable. There is a fundamental difference in the concept of human rights in Islam and the western world. In Islam, it is not only the duty of governments to uphold of human rights but it is the duty of every individual in the society. The biggest problem in the world today is the emphasis on rights and not on the fulfillment of duties, whereas in Islam there is a balance between rights and duties. Allah Ta’ala has given us the Shariah, a divinely ordained system of law for man, which is designed to give human beings the highest level of protection. The 5 objectives (maqasid) Shariah are designed primarily to protect the life, wealth, honour, lineage and freedom of human beings.
