Follow his example of service to humanity

Follow his example of service to humanity

Zikr Majlis, at Mallington Musallah on September 12, 2024

The poetry “Salam us Par” beautifully captures the various aspects of the life of Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, praising him as one whose whole life was for the service of Allah’s creation. This fact is attested to in the consolation provided to him by Khadijah (RA), when he was overwhelmed on the occasion of the first Wahi, that he will not be destroyed due to his noble qualities and service to humanity. When Makkah was steeped in the darkness of ignorance, Allah sent Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam - a sympathetic soul whom the oppressed, weak and downtrodden could rely upon for support, even before the advent of Nubuwwah. The challenge for us is to follow in his footsteps and see what role we can play as individuals and as a group to assist the poor and needy, as some are doing so selflessly. Each individual should aspire to be a “mission of mercy”, working with sincerity to help the needy; Allah appreciates this and rewards handsomely, as this softens the hearts, thereby becoming a means of Da’wah which will be accrued in one’s account on Yawmul Qiyamah. In reality, no vocabulary is adequate to describe the essence of Nabi’s Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam personality as Allah Ta’ala has praised him in the Qur’an: “Indeed, you are on the highest pedestal of character” [68:4]
