The Sermons of Nabi (SAW) Part 5

The Sermons of Nabi (SAW) Part 5

Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on July 20, 2020

Amongst the most famous of sermons of Nabi-Karim (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) are those he delivered on the occasion of Hajjatul Wada, in which it was as if Allah Ta’ala had inspired him to summarise the whole of Islam with gems of wisdom and knowledge which he generously shared for the Ummah to uphold and implement. He addressed the Sahabah (RA) warning them that shaytan had lost hope in being worshipped in the land, but will continue to mislead the people through trivial deeds, therefore to always be on guard. He exhorted them to hold fast onto the book of All?h and the Sunnah, for protection from going astray and reminded them of the brotherhood of Islam. He admonished them against usurpation of wealth, zulm (oppression) and becoming disbelievers by fighting against and killing one another. In Masjidul Khaif, Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) addressed the Sahabah (RA) reminding them that Allah Ta’ala will set right the affairs of the person whose primary concern is Aakhirah, and he will be granted self-sufficiency and contentment, the opposite being true for the person who hankers after this world. But, this does not negate adopting the means (with moderation), whilst putting one’s trust in Allah SWT. He also made Du’a for the one who conveys his words, and encouraged conscientiousness on carrying out deeds with sincerity, having good wishes for the leadership of the Ummah, and remaining within the ranks of the Muslim majority (Ahlus Sunnah w’al Jam’ah).
