Islam does not favour the celebration of the martyrdom of certain individuals to the exclusion of others, rather, we appreciate & honour the martyrdom of all Shuhada & acknowledge that it was through their sacrifice & blood that the garden of Islam was watered. In the month of Zul Hijjah, the brutal martyrdom of the illustrious son in law of Nabi SAW & the third Khalifa of Islam, Sayyidina Uthman bin Affan RA took place & in the beginning of Muharram, a great personality of Islam, the father in law & second Khalifa of Islam, Umar bin Khataab RA passed away. We should make the Shuhada our role models & follow in their footsteps by sacrificing some of our wealth & time for the Deen of Allah in the service of the Ummah. The greatest sacrifice we need to make is to sacrifice our haraam desires of committing sin & transgressing the laws of Allah SWT.
