The whole world is in the grip of a crisis; at such a time there is only one avenue of hope and relief - turn to Allah ?Ta’ala, throw ourselves in front of Him, displaying our helplessness and begging for His mercy and forgiveness, like a terrified child clings to his mother! For a person of Iman, the more difficulties and catastrophes appear, the more he turns to Allah, most humble and meek. Those deficient in Iman fall into doubts, irrelevant matters occupying their hearts and minds, distancing them from Allah. Keep the tongue moist with the Zikr of Allah and don’t become beguiled by shaytan regarding the benefits of Zikr, even if the heart is distracted. Through Zikr, the Zakir (one making Zikr) reaches the Mazkur (One being remembered i.e. Allah Ta’ala)! The poetry of Hazrat Khwaja Azizul Hasan Majzub (R) encompasses the need of the time – to attain the Ma’rifah of Allah Ta’ala, recognise our sinfulness, weakness and shortcomings and to beseech Him by His beautiful names. As Hazrat Khwaja Sb (R) eloquently expresses, O Allah now make the primary occupation of my life, at every moment to be engaged in Your remembrance.
