The Sermons of Nabi (SAW) Part 11
Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on November 30, 2020
The perennial advices of Nabi-Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam from his sermons containing various admonitions and glad tidings were discussed. Amongst the admonitions given, he warned that we lead our lives as if death is ordained for others, and see the deceased off to their graves as if they are going on a journey from which they will not return, yet we eat up their inheritance as if we will live forever; we have forgotten every lesson; we feel safe from every calamity. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam also conveyed in his sermons glad tidings for those who possess the following qualities: his own faults preoccupy him from searching for the faults of others; his earnings are pure; his private life is one of righteousness and public life is good; he humbles himself before Allah, even if he does not possess any deficiencies; he spends without sinning; associates with men of wisdom and understanding; spends his excess wealth in sadaqah (charity) and holds back excess talk and practises the Sunnah without resorting to bid’ah. He advised the Sahaba (RA) to be shy of Allah Ta’ala (in doing wrong) as one ought to, i.e. knowing Allah is watching and not passing a single night without death before one (Muraqabah Maut). If we take these advices to heart, and practice on every aspect, we will gain success in dunya and Akhirah!
