2 Signs of a Man of Allah (SAHIBE NISBAT)
Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on March 4, 2013
A Sahibe Nisbat (one who enjoys a special relationship with Allah) has 2 salient qualities.
1) His desire for A'maalus Sawlihah (good deeds) is more intense than a hungry man's desire for food.
2) He is more averse to sins than filth.
If one does not have a Tab'i (natural/instinctive) love for virtue, nor a Tab'i hatred for vice, then it must be developed on an 'Aqli (intellectual) level by reflecting over the benefits of Itaa'at (obedience) & the consequences of Ma'siyat (disobedience). This 'Aqli approach is a more lasting one which aids the Saalik against despondency, which is a common stumbling block in the journey of Sulook. The heart of a Saalik is illuminated by the special light of Taqwa & Fahm (understanding) in the Suhbat of the Awliya.
