Kalimah Tayyibah is the very basis for the existence of the Universe, it being brought to every Ummah by their Nabi whose name would be added to the end of it. Indicating to its greatness is that Kalimah Tayyibah is known by numerous varying names, some of which are: “Maqalidus-samawati-wal’ardh” - the key to the heavens and the earth; “Al-Qawlus-Thabit” - the firm declaration; “Kalimatut-Taqwa” - the statement of piety and righteousness; “Kalimatul-Ikhlas” - the Kalimah of sincerity; “Al Urwatul Wusqah” - the firm pillar for a person to take support; “Da’watul-Haq” - the call to truth; and “Thamanul-Jannah” - the price of Jannah. This Kalimah has been mentioned extensively in the Qur’an and Ahadith, and classified as the most superior form of Zikr by Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), as it is the very foundation of this Deen and the expression of the Tauhid (Oneness) of Allah Ta’ala. The attachment and love for the Kalimah and its constant recitation should be in the heart of every Muslim, therefore the Ulama have written extensively on its importance, and it is emphasised in the Mamulat (practices) of the Sufiya of all the Silsilas (spiritual schools) as the foundation of spiritual reformation and progress. The more it is recited, the stronger one’s Iman will become and the closer one will draw to Allah Ta’ala. Burn out the despicable qualities of the heart with the fire of excessive recitation of La Ilaha Illallah!
