This Mir’aj talk is occurring under unusual circumstances, due to the restrictions in place because of a tiny virus that has brought the world to a standstill. The Coronavirus pandemic is a wake-up call to the Muslim Ummah, teaching us to always be in a state of spiritual and emotional preparedness. No calamity befalls mankind, except with the permission of Allah, and in these difficult times, the hearts of those with Iman will be guided and at ease, resigning to His will. For the Believer, these kinds of contagious diseases are a mercy. Those who makes Sabr during it are rewarded and those who pass away from it, attain the rank of Shaheed. It also serves as a warning, calamities being the outcome of evil actions, to bring us to our senses and back onto the Straight Path. There is clear guidance from the Qur’an and Ahadith on the line of action to take. Allah Ta’ala is Musabbibul-Asbaab – the One who controls the means, therefore adopt the means, physical and spiritual, then trust in Allah, understanding that they can only operate with the His permission – this is the essence of Tawakkul!

Mi’raj
Many amazing events happened on the miraculous journey of the Mi’raj, in which Allah Ta’ala elevated Nabi (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) to the highest pedestal of being the leader of Ambiya AS. What a great honour for him, and what a great honour for his Ummah! But, are we fulfilling the responsibility as Khayrul Ummah (the best of Ummah)? Allah Ta’ala conferred the physical Mi’raj on Nabi Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam and gifted his Ummah a spiritual Mi’raj in the form of the Salah. Do not be so heedless that such an event has come which has shaken us to the core, yet we are negligent with regards to Salah; let us go back to Salah!
