Ashaar: Makkah Yaad

The poetry of Hazrat Qari Siddiq Bandwi (R), ‘Makkah Yaad Aata He’ recounts the beautiful scenes and memories of Hajj. Being a person of great mujahadah, Hazrat Qari Sb would spend most of his time in the Haram engaged in Zikr, Tilawah and Du’a for every person who had made Ihsan on him, Subhanallah! Hazrat’s amazing qualities are seen in his khidmah of an ill companion during Hajj and of South African students who had traveled to visit him. In the separation from the Haramain, the heart returns to the beautiful moments in Makkah in front of one! The mind recalls the comfort of the garb of Ihram, symbolic of the Haji’s condition as ‘beggars’ of the Haram and becoming energized reading the ‘slogan’ of Labbaik at the top of one’s voice. Then, the memories of Mina, and Arafah! Allahu-Akbar! The greatest gathering of Allah’s lover’s and the greatest Zikr Majlis on earth is in Arafah on the 9th Dhul Hijjah! The super-computers of the world don’t have the crunching power to calculate the reward of the day of Arafah! Remembering the Rami (stoning) of the Jamarat, symbolic of breaking ties with shaytan, the mind boggles at how Allah SWT makes the arrangements for the supply of millions of pebbles for His fortunate guests! Reflecting on the cries and tears, Hajj brings to mind all the beautiful places Allah SWT has given us, which melt the heart. When a person’s heart becomes thawed out, during the journey of Hajj, the love for Allah SWT pours out!
