Qiraat Jalsa Advices - Masjid Nurul Huda

Special Programme, at Masjid Nurul Huda on April 26, 2018

The Holy Qur’an and the Baitullah are the very means of subsistence and existence of the entire creation of Allah SWT. The Baitullah is the open and manifest means, whereas the Kitabullah is the inner means of solace and tranquillity for the hearts of mankind. Although we are heading into the winter season, the coming of the month of Ramadan with the Tilawah of the Qur’an brings a spiritual ‘Spring’ in which the hearts become fresh and invigorated with new life. The Qur’an is Shifa (cure), Rahmah (mercy), Hidayah (guidance), Nur (light)… in reality there are no words that are adequate to describe the Holy Qur’an. One of the salient and manifest causes for the downfall of this Ummah is detachment from the Kalamullah and negligence with regards to its rights. The different Qira’ats (modes of recitation) of the Qur’an are like beautiful flavours, not out of reach of being learnt and enjoyed by even the ordinary person. The minimum we should strive for is to recite the Qur’an with Tajweed, which is explained in Allama Jazariyyah’s poetry as compulsory, failing which a person is considered sinful. The more fluently the Qur’an flows from the lips, the greater the enjoyment and the more the desire for Tilawah will grow. Extend a hand of friendship towards the only true friend – the Qur’an - who will be company in the qabr and an intercessor on the Day of Qiyamah!
