The swiftness of the departure of Ramadaan paints a picture of the melting away of life. The last ten nights call for total devotion and exertion in Ibaadah, which requires Sabr; a lesson most excellently taught and enhanced by fasting. Allah Ta’ala, The Most Generous, awaits to pour out His treasures and enrich the souls of His muhtaaj (needy/dependant) servants when they reach out to Him in worship and supplication, especially on the ‘Night of Power’.
