Ignorance - a spiritual malady P10

Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on November 28, 2016

The student of Islam is a person of very high rank, such that the Malaaikah surround, love and honour the seekers of knowledge of Deen. Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) mentioned that Allah SWT opens the door of Jannah for the person who sets out to seek the knowledge of Deen, and acquires it solely for His pleasure. The Ambiyaa AS left behind knowledge as their inheritance, thus the Ulama are the heirs of the Ambiyaa AS. Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) gave the example of the Ulama being like the stars in the sky through which a person may be guided in the darkness of the earth and sea. As knowledge is taken away through the death of the Ulama, those stars will no longer be there to guide people and they will go astray. There are countless examples of Ulama who have left the world many years ago, but whose loss is still felt by the Ummah till today. According to the narration of Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) we have the option of being four people: the Aalim, the student of Deen, one who listens to the talks of Deen, or one who has love and respect for knowledge. Furthermore, he warned against being the fifth one, who dislikes knowledge and the people of knowledge, as kufr is feared for such an unfortunate person.
