Poetry "Memories of Haj remain for a long time"
Zikr Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on September 15, 2016
As the Hujjaaj are due to be returning from the momentous journey of Hajj, the poetry of Hazrat Qari Siddique Sb (R) in which he reminisces on the experience of visiting the Baitullah and Hajj was discussed. In this one poem the entire journey of Hajj, and in particular each action and emotion of the Hajj is encapsulated. We should use the power of our imagination to bring back the memories of Hajj and to imagine that we are there doing the ibadah and actions which are performed in Makkah and Madinah. In this way we can be in the Mubarak lands in heart and soul despite our bodies being here. By reliving those beautiful memories again and again, and even for those who have not been there, to simply imagine what it would be like, some Ruhaniyat and Kayfiyat will enter the heart. As the Muhabbat for the Mubarak places grows, our Iman increases, and Allah SWT will also make the means for a person to make this journey. We should meet the returning Hujjaaj and greet them with the dua Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) gave the returning Hajee. We should also request their duas and encourage and support them in maintaining what they had developed in the Mubarak lands. Those that are returning from Hajj bring with them the Tajalliaat and Anwaraat of the Baitullah, and this remains with them for a while. By fulfulling the Sunnah practises of meeting the returning Hujjaaj, giving and taking duas, we will be rewarded and also gain some of the Barakah of the Haramain.
