Solutions to our problems of drought and racism

Jumuah, at Musgrave on October 30, 2015

There is an outward cause for drought - which is due to climate and geographical reasons. And an inward cause. Nabi SAW has mentioned several factors that cause deprivation of rain, but here are just a few: Sins in general, deceiving and cheating in monetary matters, not paying zakaat correctly or withholding the payment of zakaah and adultery. The solution to this drought is to sincerely repent and make duaa and reform our condition to attract the mercy of Allah swt .Regarding racism, remember we are Muslims before we are South Africans and therefore we are the ambassadors of Islam, of Allah swt and of Nabi SAW. We have to show the best character and conduct in the world to promote Islam as we are the representatives of Islam. If we show good character and behaviour then nothing can harm us, but if we show bad character and behaviour then nothing can save us. The solution to dealing with racism is to be good ambassadors of Islam and to uphold our Islamic values of justice and kindness.
