After Ramadaan: keep the momentum going
Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on July 20, 2015
With the departure of Ramadaan, many experience a sadness. This is a very Mubarak & rewarding sadness over which a thousand happinesses can be sacrificed! Whilst people of the world grieve over worldly losses, people of 'heart' (Ahle Dil) grieve over spiritual losses.
Ramadaan came to link us to Allah with such a Nisbat (link) & Ta'alluq (connection) & such Ihsan which is Daa'im (constant). Then such a heart becomes worthy of being called a heart... & such a person is called Ahle Dil. That Dard ("pain") of Allah's Love that enters this heart is so enjoyable that all the comforts of the world can be sacrificed for this "Dard".
Now that Ramadaan is gone, the most important thing is to secure its Qubuliyat (acceptance) & maintain the goodness. Memories of Ramadaan must linger on for months after. Let Ramadaan be followed by Istighfar, Muhasabah (contemplation over actions), seeking acceptance in a state of hope & fear and Shouq (desire) to reach next Ramadan.
