Zikr Majlis, at Musjid-e-Yusuf, Parlock on August 8, 2024
Amongst the beautiful Du’as which Nabi-Kareem Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam used to recite frequently which encompasses five important requirements of a Believer is the following supplication:
Allahumma aslih-lee deeniyallathee huwa ‘ismatu amri, wa aslih-lee dunyaya-llatee feeha ma’ashee, wa aslih-lee akhirati-llatee feeha ma’adee, wa-j’alil-hayata ziyadatan- li fee kulli khayr, wa-j’alal-mawta rahatan li min kulli sharr.
He supplicates, “O Allah rectify the matters of my Deen which is the very protection of everything I have”. This encompasses rectification of one’s Aqidah; ‘Ibadaat, Mu’amalat and Akhlaq. By complying with the laws of Shari’ah and fulfilling the Sunnan of these aspects of Deen, all one’s affairs in life will be protected. He further supplicates, “O Allah, rectify for me my matters of this world wherein lies my livelihood,” as the ability to earn a halaal livelihood with ease is a great blessing which should be sought from Allah. He then supplicates, “O Allah, rectify the matters of my Akhirah to which I am going to return,” reminding us to turn to Allah before returning to Allah by strengthening one’s Iman and ensuring all rights and obligations are fulfilled before one leaves this world. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam then supplicates, “O Allah, let my life be a means of increasing me in every goodness,” as one’s life must be used to increase in deeds that will be weighty on one’s scale on Yawmul Qiyamah, and finally, “O Allah, let death be a means of comfort for me from all evil.”
