Inculcate Taqwa in our Qurbani<\/h2>

Jumuah<\/a>, at Musjid ut Taqwa<\/a> on August 25, 2017<\/span><\/p>
\r\n

Allah Ta\u2019ala has combined two great acts of Ibadah in the month of Dhul Hijjah. Allah Ta\u2019ala has took an oath on the 10 days and nights of Dhul Hijjah. A Believer has a great opportunity to gain maximum spiritual gains during this time. One day of fasting is equal to one year and worshipping one night is equal to the Lailatul Qadr in rewards. 9th day of Dhul Hijjah is Arafah, the fast on this day is such that it compensates the sins of two years (one year before and one year after).
\n2 great acts of Ibadah:
\n1.\tHajj Baitullah (5 days) is a fundamental pillar of our Deen. Fulfilment of this Fardh obligation is in this month. Allah Ta\u2019ala has guaranteed the certificate of Maghfirah to the one who\u2019s Hajj is accepted. Once Nabi SAW made a dua \u201cOh Allah forgive the Hajji and behalf of the person he seeks forgiveness for\u201d.
\n2.\tAct of Qurbani on 10th Dhul Hijjah. There is great reward of doing the Qurbani. Sahaba enquired about the reward of Qurbani. Nabi SAW said: For every hair of the animal, you will be rewarded by Allah Ta\u2019ala. The sacrificed animal will come on the Day of Judgement with its flesh, hooves, skin, horns and blood and the person will get rewarded equal to its weight. That is why \u201cNabi SAW said open your heart when sacrificing the animal\u201d. Allah Ta\u2019ala says \u201cIt is not the meat of the animal, nor the blood of the animal that reaches to Allah, it is the Taqwa that reaches to Him\u201d
\nTherefore we must do it with complete sincerity. We should have Taqwa in the choice of animal, it should be compliant with the Shariah requirements, otherwise it will render the Qurbani invalid. It must be a healthy animal. There is a Hadith that the sacrifice animal will be used as a vehicle on the bridge.
\nAt the time of Sacrifice the heart must be brimming with khiafyat and feelings, like Ibrahim AS had when he was prepared to sacrifice his son for Allah Ta\u2019ala. There must be Taqwa in conducting the Qurbani. But unfortunately nowadays, the people have made it a casual act, like a picnic atmosphere, intermingling, taking selfies with the Qurbani animal etc. We must remember that it is not for advertising ourselves or profiling for people. We must do with humility and focus on the reason why Allah Ta\u2019ala has commanded this. We must memorise the duas before the Qurbani, during the Qurbani and after it.
\nWhen distributing the meat, we must not forget the poor people and the labourers that helped us to do this act. Ensure that the labourers are paid well. We cannot pay them in kind. It is not suitable to keep the best meat only for oneself and for the poor people what we don\u2019t like. Some people don\u2019t eat the Qurbani meat as they say \u201cwe don\u2019t like the smell\u201d. It is hospitality from Allah Ta\u2019ala. We must accept it whole heartedly. There is Barakaat in this meat. From this entire exercise of Qurbani, we must learn about the true spirit of sacrifice. The entire life of a Believer is to sacrifice for Allah Ta\u2019ala. The Dua we read at the time of Qurbani, \u201cMy Salah, my Qurbani, my living and my death is for the Allah Ta\u2019ala\u201d. The Believer\u2019s life is about sacrificing in the path of life, sacrificing time and money for upliftment of society. May Allah Ta\u2019ala use us for his Deen and grant us the tawfeeq of Qurbani.<\/p>\n
