Reflections on Allah\u2019s Greatness from Surah Luqman - Masjid-e-Ebrahim, Newlands<\/h2>

Zikr Majlis<\/a>, at Masjid-e-Ebrahim, Newlands<\/a> on August 22, 2024<\/span><\/p>
\r\n

In Surah Luqman, Allah Ta\u2019ala mentions about mighty ships that sail on the oceans, which like the jumbo jets that glide in the air, are signs of Allah Ta\u2019ala\u2019s greatness and are part of His favours in facilitating the transport of passengers and commodities around the world with ease. Sabr (patience) and Shukr (gratitude) is required through the calm and rough seas of dunya as the ship of one\u2019s life sails towards the destination of the Akhirah. When faced with storms and mighty waves, even disbelievers call out to Allah and vow loyalty, yet most when delivered to safety are ungrateful and deceitful traitors, turning away from Him and returning to disobedience. Mawlana Qasim Sema (Rahmatullahi \u2018Alayh) is of the faithful few who upheld his vow of building a Darul Uloom made whilst shipwrecked at sea, which took the form of Darul \u2018Uloom Newcastle. Allah Ta\u2019ala declares further on that His promise is true, therefore one should fear the Day of Qiyamah when everyone will be concerned for their own selves, and not to allow the pleasures of this life deceive one into forgetting Allah and one\u2019s duty to Him. Further signs of His greatness mentioned in Surah Luqman are the Mafatih al-ghayb - five keys of the unseen which only Allah Ta\u2019ala has knowledge of: When Qiyamah is going to come; the details of the rain; what is in the wombs; what every soul will earn tomorrow; and where death is ordained for every soul.<\/p>\n
