The sermons of Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam Part 1

Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on February 17, 2020

Whose lectures could be more impactful, inspirational and beneficial than that of Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam? He was the teacher of the whole of mankind, and until this day, every lecture delivered is based on his advices. Coming directly from him, what effect it had on the hearts of the Sahaba RA! They took from the treasures of Nabi-Karim Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, such that they learnt, memorised and conveyed his every word and most importantly, practiced and demonstrated his teachings to the world. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam used to praise Allah Ta’ala the most, therefore his sermons always began with the praises of Allah. In a short sermon given on his arrival in Madinah, narrated by Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman bin Auf RA, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam advised the Sahaba to ‘invest’ in the Akhirah as every person will leave their ‘flock without a shepherd’ to meet his Rabb. One will have to answer directly to Allah Ta’ala, therefore they should save themselves from jahannam by giving even a piece of a date as sadaqah, or at least say a good word, as every good deed is rewarded 10 to 700 fold! In another sermon, Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam advises that the best, most beautiful and most effective speech is the Qur’an, and its recitation is the best of deeds. He beautifully exhorts the Sahaba RA, ‘Love those who love Allah, and love Allah with all your heart.’ He warns against growing weary of Allah’s book and Zikr which results in hardening of the heart, and an act hated by Allah - breaking a pledge with Him. Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam sermons were comprehensive, and some very lengthy, but the Sahaba RA always listened attentively, appreciating every word!
