Working for a halaal livelihood is greatly encouraged & praised in Islam. Our Rasul SAW & all the Ambiyaa AS were shepherds & earned a small remuneration. To earn a halaal livelihood is better than sitting idle, begging from people & earning something which is prohibited. The rights of workers are greatly emphasised in Islam, yet we find there is gross negligence with regard to it. To be forgiving when they make a mistake, to pay a liveable wage & to treat them as our brothers are some of the rights which were mentioned.
