Importance of Enjoining good and Prohibiting Evil - P2
There are many verses of the Holy Quran in which Allah SWT mentions the importance of enjoining good and prohibiting evil. Allah SWT has given us the title of being the “Best of Ummahs”, but this is conditional to the fact that we carry out whatever Allah SWT has mentioned thereafter in the verse of the Holy Quran. The conditions mentioned are four:
1. To be of service to mankind at large.
2. To promote that which is good and virtuous in society.
3. To prevent evil and vice in society.
4. To have firm and strong belief in Allah SWT.
A sizeable group should always concentrate on this fundamental principle of Islam: Enjoining good and Prohibiting evil. Then will this Ummah become truly successful. The criterion of success according to the Holy Quran is: Imaan, Piety, enjoining good and Prohibiting evil, Purification of the heart, Remembrance of Allah SWT and Establishing salaah.
When advising his son Luqman (A.S) mentioned: ”Establish salaah, enjoin good, prohibit evil and be patient on what befalls you”. Never ever give up due to obstacles but rather bear it with sabr. As this is a requirement of enjoining good and prohibiting evil. Always encourage others to have patience and be steadfast in your effort.
