Taking inspiration from Surah Inshirah

Jumuah, at Musjid ut Taqwa on January 5, 2018

Surah Inshirah was a Surah given as a glad tiding to Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) at a time when he was experiencing a lot of hardships and difficulties. By extension, this glad tiding is to his companions (R.A) and his Ummah till the Day of Judgment. It is a message of hope and optimism for the Ummah of Nabi(sallallahu alaihi wasallam). The Ummah is going through a lot of difficulties and problems - an Ummah in crisis. Many have become despondent and disillusioned. Allah SWT gives us a lot of hope and support in these verses of the Holy Quran.
The pious elders advise that in difficult situations in the Ummah, individual or family this particular Surah should be recited frequently, in fact it should be read 360 times. This is known as the “Khatm of the Auliya”. InshaAllah, with its recitation many difficulties will be removed. It will not be that a person continues suffering and suffering but rather Allah SWT will bring relief and ease. For every difficulty, Allah SWT will bring about double ease.
Abdullah bin Abbas (R.A) beautifully explained in poetry form:
“THINK OH! BELIEVER, WHEN DIFFICULTIES BEFALL YOU,
KEEP SURAH ALAM NASHRAH IN FRONT OF YOU.
ALLAH SWT SPEAKS ABOUT ONE DIFFICULTY BETWEEN TWO EASES.
WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THAT, YOU WILL FEEL HAPPY.”
The day will come of better conditions. We must make our effort and the exert ourselves in turning to Allah SWT and supplicating to Allah SWT.
