Mumin is always on duty, even during holidays

Islahi Majlis, at Musjid ut Taqwa on November 6, 2017

The lesson for the Believer, wherever in the world we go, is to not get caught up in the ‘scenery’ only, but to always remember the Creator of all sceneries, Allah Rabbul Izzat. The Quran says travel on earth, but with the eyes of admiration of the creation of Allah, and admonition. Thus, the holiday and sightseeing of a Believer is a means of drawing closer to Allah SWT and strengthening his Iman. We can enjoy the blessings of Allah SWT, and return from vacation physically refreshed and with our Iman rejuvenated, provided we stay within the limits Allah SWT has set. No matter where in the world we travel to, we should not forget our identity – we are Believers. Remember that the Mu’min is ‘on duty’ at all times, until the end. We should not go near to temptation, and as Hazrat Maulana Shah Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar (R) advised, stay far away from even the means of sin. There are plenty of halaal places to visit whilst on vacation, so there is no need to go to places of temptation and sin where Allah Ta’ala’s athaab is descending. Visiting such places as casino complexes, etc. snatches the Nuraniyah from our hearts, weakens the foundations of our Iman and causes us to lose the detestation of haraam. Through observing and reflecting on the creation, such as the world of birds, it is seen how easily a person can gain the Ma’rifah of Allah SWT.
