Hazrat Anas (radi allahu anhu) was a very young companion of Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam). He was 8 years old when Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam) arrived in Madinah and he was only 18 years old at the demise of Nabi (sallahu alauhi wasallam). In this tender age, the mother of Anas (radi allahu anhu) presented him to Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam), to be in the service of Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam). Thus for 10 solid years, Hazrat Anas (radi allahu anhu) enthusiastically and diligently served Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam), carrying out different errands, work and chores. Hazrat Anas (radi allahu anhu) grew up in the tutorship, tarbiyyah and training of Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam). Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam) showed great love, kindness and tolerance to children, understanding their nature. Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “When harshness enters something it spoils it, and when goodness/kindness comes into something it adorns it.”
Hazrat Anas (radi allahu anhu) was blessed with 3 very special duas from Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam). Duas for a long life, many pious offspring and for lots of Barakah in sustenance. This was such a beautiful and comprehensive dua, covering all aspects of a good life. It is said that Hazrat Anas (radi allahu anhu), lived till 120 years of age, was granted over 100 pious offspring, and was blessed with a crop of dates twice a year (double crop).
Nabi (sallahu alaih wasallam) taught us hope ie. in Deenul Islam. There is no pessimism or despondency. Even the sinners of this Ummah have been given great hope. The intercession of Nabi (sallahu alaihi wasallam) is also for the sinners of major sins, who died with Iman. It is beautifully said in poetry:
”HE IS THE BELOVED, WHOSE INTERCESSION IS HOPED FOR IN EVERY KIND OF DISTRESS.”
