Weakness of the Ummah due to leaving Deen - Musallah Dawood, Montclair
Sadly, our condition has become such that we have forgotten the guidance of the Holy Quran, the value and virtue of the Sunnah, and the teachings and regulations of the Shariah. The poetry recited laments the condition of the Muslim Ummah in current times. As a result the Ummah has become weak and disunited, and has become the object of suppression and oppression all over the world. Just like the Falcon who strays from his master and ends up being groomed by an ignorant boy thereby losing his power and ability to prey, the Mu’min who strays from the path of Allah SWT lands up in the hands of the enemies of Islam. Such a Mu’min is then stripped of the practices of the Shariah and Sunnah in which lies his beauty and strength. The first step in returning to the basic teachings of the Quran and Sunnah is to strengthen our Iman by reading Kalimah Tayyibah plentifully, speaking about and pondering on the Greatness of Allah SWT, His creation and His Attributes. We should come back to the Sunnah by emulating the way of Nabi-e-Kareem ? in every aspect of our lives. Keep steadfast with the five daily Salaah in Jamaat, this is the minimum every Muslim must do. We should remember Allah SWT, make Zikr of Allah SWT, and recite Durood upon Rasool ? as there is great benefit for this in Dunya and Aakhirah. We should recite the Holy Quran as it becomes a light which shows us the path in this world. We should fulfill the rights of the people around us and improve our character, by working towards removing bad qualities and increasing in good qualities. By us and those around us practicing on these fundamentals, weakness will leave us, and the Ummah will regain its’ strength.
