The subject matter of Tasawwuf is the inner condition and character of man. Akhlaq-Hameedah are the praiseworthy or excellent qualities which one has to strive to develop and Akhlaq-Razeelah are the blameworthy or despicable qualities which one has to work towards removing. Allah SWT informs us in the Qur\u2019an that the one who is successful in the eyes of Allah SWT is he who purifies his nafs, and the one who \u2018polluted\u2019 himself spiritually, is a failure. Amongst the Akhlaq-Hameedah are: Tauhid, Yaqeen (conviction) in Allah, Ikhlas (sincerity), Taubah (sincere repentance), Muhabbah (love for Allah). Fanaa (annihiliation) and Fanaa-ul-fanaa (the highest level of annihilation) are very lofty spiritual conditions, which Allah grants to the Auliya-Siddiqeen. The Akhlaq-Razeelah, are a source of misery and frustration in this world and punishment in the Akhirah, Allah save us! Amongst these are: hirs (greed), tamaa (desire), toolul-amal (long hopes), ghadab (anger), etc. Through the process of Tazkiyatun-nafs (purifying oneself by removing the Akhlaq-Razeelah and inculcating Akhlaq-Hameedah), a person will be granted true peace of heart and mind, and achieve the ultimate success in dunya and Akhirah!<\/p>\n
