Fourteen hundred years have passed, but the lessons and insights from the life of our beloved Nabi-e-Kareem\u00a0(SAW) are applicable to all aspects of our existence even today. He was the personality who helped the helpless and was looked up to by the downtrodden in society. Nabi-e-Kareem (SAW) was the Leader of leaders, but chose a life of \u2018faqiri\u2019 (poverty) for himself to give consolation to the poor of his Ummah. He would spend generously on the poor, even taking a loan to fulfill their needs. We are living in an age where Allah SWT has given us an abundance of everything, yet we do not have gratitude. We lack contentment, chasing more and more and in the process neglect Allah SWT\u2019s orders. Nabi-e-Kareem\u00a0(SAW) severely warned the Ummah regarding being granted material wealth which will become a means of competing with one another. We don\u2019t have the physical or spiritual strength to compete with Nabi-e-Kareem\u00a0(SAW) and the Sahabah RA in simplicity. Being content with what we have, making shukr and seeking out the poor to assist them is the simplicity of this day and age. We can\u2019t help the whole country, but if everyone looks after one or two, thousands will be taken care of! Take heed from the condition of those in other countries who were too engrossed in luxury and comfort, forgetting about those around them and neglecting to convey the message of Islam, until Allah SWT sent them such an awakening that they became paupers overnight. When we go into the qabr, the reality will dawn that to fight for the little crumbs of this world is the height of foolishness!<\/p>\n
