Revive the true spirit of Zul-Hijjah and Qurbani<\/h2>

Islahi Majlis<\/a>, at Musjid ut Taqwa<\/a> on August 21, 2017<\/span><\/p>
\r\n

We are on the threshold of the auspicious and Mubarak month of Dhul Hijjah. The first ten nights (and days) of Dhul Hijjah are so significant that Allah SWT has taken an oath on them in the Holy Quran: \u2018Wal fajr. Walayalin a\u2019ashr\u2019; and unique to these ten days are the two great Ibadahs of Hajj and Qurbani. These are days of fasting and nights of Ibadah, where each fast is equivalent to a year of fasting, and the Ibadah of each night is equivalent to the Ibadah of Laylatul Qadr in reward. The reward for the fast of the day of Arafah (9th Dhul Hijjah) is forgiveness of the past and future year\u2019s sins. We should appreciate and make the most of these \u2018seasons\u2019 of our Islamic Calendar in order to keep our spiritual \u2018batteries\u2019 charged. There is no act more beloved to Allah SWT on the day of Eidhul Adha than Qurbani. Qurbani is living the experience of sacrifice, in emulation of the unflinching obedience of Ibraheem AS and Ismaeel AS to Allah Ta\u2019ala\u2019s command. Rather than opting for convenience, participate in doing the sacrifice ourselves to fulfill this great Ibadah with the true spirit! We should fulfill the Sunnahs, and partake of the Qurbani meat as it is Allah Ta\u2019ala\u2019s hospitality. Be eager to fulfill even the Mustahab actions, such as abstaining from trimming hair and nails from the sighting of the moon of Dhul Hijjah until the Qurbani is done. Our hearts should be beating in unison with the Hujjaaj; and we should make dua for them, and request duas from them during these great days of Hajj.<\/p>\n
