ADOPT A SCHOOL<\/p>\n

As Muslims, we have a sacred responsibility to our fellow countrymen, a responsibility to improve the plight of the down\u2010trodden and historically oppressed people of our country. We are morally obliged to extend our helping hand to communities living in our very neighbourhood. The Holy Prophet (sallallahu\u2010alayhi\u2010wasallam) said: “The creation (humanity) is (ultimately) the family of Allah, hence the most beloved creation in the sight of Allah are those that do good to His family” As members of the human race, we need to extend our helping hand to help redress the imbalance between first world and third world societies in our regions.<\/p>\n

We have to initiate a social empowerment program that will serve as a catalyst for Da’wah. Lest we leave an unpardonable legacy for generations to come, our limited resources and manpower, calls for a pragmatic and practical program that may be sustainable in the long term. We humbly suggest an uniformed project called Adopt\u2010a\u2010School.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The “adoption” would entail:
\n\u00a8 Donation of textbooks, furniture and apparatus
\n\u00a8 Establishment of library with various media
\n\u00a8 Extra\u2010tuition given by members of the Muslim teacher community
\n\u00a8 Teacher Development Program \u2010 management and administration skills to be imparted
\n\u00a8 Entrepreneur Opportunities (for Muslims)
\n\u00a8 Operation Qurbani
\n\u00a8 Operation Winter \u2010 clothes, blankets, etc.
\n\u00a8 Operating soup\u2010kitchen
\n\u00a8 Other relief operations in disaster situations; floods, etc<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
